And yes, I’m a little bit terrified. That’s how you know it’s right.

I want to tell you about something I’ve been building.

But first, a confession.

I recorded the first episode of my new podcast at 5 a.m. on a Saturday. Not because I’m disciplined or aspirational or one of those people who “rises with the sun.” I recorded it at 5 a.m. because I couldn’t sleep.

If that’s not telling, I don’t know what is!

Where This Came From

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know Circling the Drain — the show I made with my co-host Ellie Dunn, where we talked about menopause, midlife, hormones, and all the things nobody warns you about until you’re already in it. It was smart and necessary and genuinely fun. I’m lucky we got to do it together.

But for various reasons, we made a joint decision to close that chapter. It was mutual and with absolutely zero drama.

Doing this without her feels both completely right and genuinely terrifying but I knew this needed to be a solo-gig.

What You Can Expect

AGECRAFT After Dark is very much an extension of my Substack. BUT. There will be interviews — with friends, with professionals, with friends who are professionals doing something interesting, and occasionally with authors or people you’ve actually heard of. There will be health and science content, and there will be liminal subjects: grief, transitions, the strange in-between spaces.

And there will absolutely be some magic and a little high strangeness, as a treat.
